Rev. Koushi Sherrill portrait photo

Rev. Koushi Sherrill is an ordained Sōtō Zen priest in the Niwa–Nishijima lineage through Jundo Cohen and a senior priest-in-training at Treeleaf Zendo. His practice centers on shikantaza—just sitting—as a steady return to wholeness, again and again, without chasing improvement or pushing anything away.

Guided by his teacher, Jundo Cohen, and inspired by Eihei Dōgen, he encourages a way of life with no seam between the cushion and the day: meeting work, relationships, and ordinary moments with bare, wholehearted presence—nothing left out, nothing extra—in today’s modern world.
